In just a few days, dFakto’s teams deployed a management platform for Bruss’Help in order to help the most vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis

Bruss’Help (formerly La Strada) oversees the provision of aid to vulnerable people in Brussels. In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, Bruss’Help had to coordinate the actions of different organisations and associations working to help vulnerable people, a part of the population that is particularly at risk during sanitary crises.

Bruss’Help has to ensure real-time follow-ups and find solutions to various individual situations: medical needs, accompaniment by street teams, provision of hostel rooms for the sick, etc. Without a common information system, the different actors spent a lot of time manually checking information across different systems and calling each other to get real-time status updates.

dFakto’s teams deployed in a few days an operational IT platform to ensure coordination between the various social and medical actors. The data of the different organisations and associations are connected to a dataFactory in near-real-time thanks to a high-frequency upload rate. Reports and dashboards are automatically produced, constantly providing Bruss’Help teams with instant, up-to-date information.

Measures taken by public authorities and Bruss’Help are adapting to the situation. The dFakto platform enables the easy integration of new data sources, such as information concerning new human and material resources, and makes the sources directly available to the beneficiaries. The system also enables an efficient collaboration among medical crisis centres (Medical outposts of Doctors Without Borders, the Red Cross and the New-Samusocial), that are directly working with the most vulnerable.

The Operation Director of Bruss’Help said: “We don’t have to spend so much time on tedious manual information checks anymore. We can now fully allocate our time to help people in need. And because we now have accurate and up-to-date information, we are taking good decisions and making the best use of our resources.”

Loïc Gamain, dFakto’s Programme Director, said: “We are very happy to have put our expertise at the service of those caring for the most vulnerable during this crisis. And, above all, to have deployed a platform that will support Bruss’Help in the long run.”
