Along the years, increased growth and development also induced more complexity in the data management, collection and exploitation. It resulted in multiple data sources which could not be integrated in their reporting as well as inaccurate and unreliable data.
This way, accurate and relevant data can be transformed into reliable information, which is made available in real-time to all the departments at all the company’s levels.
Exki decided to implement dFakto’s dataFactory solution to integrate all the group’s operational data source systems in an agile Master Data Management solution.
In just a few weeks, the 5 critical data sources were integrated in dFakto’s dataFactory through an agile datamodel.
dFakto’s dataFactory is an agile Master Data Management solution based on a Data Vaulting’s architecture model.
This grants the – previously impossible – possibility of connecting all data sources and give back information in real-time, while allowing the solution to evolve in an agile way.
How exactly does it answer to the client’s problematic? What has been done to improve it?
An agile Master Data Management solution, unlike any other
The dataFactory, can be connected to any type of operational source system, Database, export file, and so on… All the data is collected, structured, historised and then improved through enrichments, in order to bring added value to all the information that comes out of the dataFactory.
The information is then made available through specifically designed “Information Marts”. These are connected to the reporting tools and also feed back the other company’s source systems thourgh APIs. This generates virtuous data cycles through the company, ensuring the relevance and reliability of the data.
Through the dataFactory, data architects use a dedicated interface to configure all the steps of the data cycle – from the initial data source load to the creation of the “Information Mart”.
An agile solution, which evolves with the company
The dataFactory’s agile datamodel allows the integration of new data sources and additional information when needed. At Exki, 3 new data sources have been integrated in juste a few days, without increasing the complexity of the datamodel and hence the time needed to integrate them. This is the main advantage, compared to other solutions, and why it can be considered as agile.
A dynamic reporting updated every day, accessible by all
dFakto has also helped Exki choose their reporting tool – Power BI – and designed all their dashboards, based on the different uses and needs from the people throughout the company.
